How I Stay Healthy in the Winter Months

Tis’ the season for colder weather and less sunshine… well hopefully not too much for us here in Florida! In the winter it can be easy to get lax about our health physically and mentally, especially toward then end of the season when we are desperately wishing for spring. I am excited to share with you some of my favorite ways to stay healthy in the winter!

1. Eat Healthy. I know easier said than done, especially around the holidays! I try my best to keep my plate well-rounded and full of colorful foods. This helps keep my vitamin intake up and my immune system at its peak.

2. Exercise! I generally love a good walk outside to break up my work day, but during the winter the weather is so unpredictable or work is so hectic that I just cannot get outside! I have opted for an indoor walking pad and I absolutely love it! It is easy to store, I can use it while working, and I can move it around wherever it is convenient.  Shop my walking pad here. 3. Red Light Therapy This red light therapy mat is a must have! There are so many benefits of red light therapy and my mat keeps me feeling my best all year long!

Some benefits are:

  • Relieve Muscle and Joint Pain
  • Accelerate Wound Healing
  • Reduce Inflammation and Boost Immunity
  • Promote Muscle and Bone Recovery
  • Enhance Skin and Brain Health

4. Stress Management. Practice relaxation or meditation. Staying mindful and protecting your peace is beneficial to your entire body. Stress causes illness and a weakened immune system.

5. Sleep. I try to get at least 8 hours of restful sleep each night. I feel my best and like I can fire on all cylinders when I give my body the time to fully restore at night. I know the stress of the holidays as well as the traveling can make this difficult, but try to prioritize sleep whenever you can.
