Fit Foodz Café is celebrating its six year anniversary in Boca Raton, and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing! Special thanks to Shaina of @takeabiteoutofBoca for arranging the media lunch – it was fantastic!
Before we even had any food, we were treated to samples of two of their seasonal smoothies – pumpkin pie and pecan. I’m in love! My personal favorite, although I’m a pumpkin lover, was the pecan pie smoothie. Decadent and healthy! You don’t see those two words put together often!

Pumpkin & Pecan Smoothies
After the smoothies we started off with melt-in-your-mouth Zucchini Cheese Bites – shredded zucchini, mixed cheeses, whole grain crumbs & egg whites, served with a ridiculously delish sauce/dressing, SUE-per sauce – named after owner Susan Klein. Also as a first course – the Avocado Bowls – each order comes with an entire avocado, halved and topped with fresh salsa, feta cheese & a reduced balsamic vinegar. These were a meal by themselves – amazing!

Our second course was filled with major yumminess as well! The Café’s Power Salad Bowl, with mixed greens, avocado, hard-boiled egg, unsalted pistachios, roasted chickpeas, craisins, goat cheese & that ridiculous house Sue-per sauce (tofu based). A fab Quinoa Fried Rice with peas, carrots, egg whites, red onions, corn, bean sprouts & low sodium soy sauce accompanied the Power Salad Bowl.

And then…. Hellooooo, third course! A must try is Harv’s Healthy Pasta – served with either whole grain spaghetti or zoodles, artichoke hearts, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms & roasted garlic. It was fab, as were the Tofu & Chicken Energy Bowls which both contained black beans, brown rice, salsa & skim milk mozzarella. The Energy Bowls are served with either the veggie of the day or baked sweet potato rounds. Yum again!

And speaking of sweet? DESSERT! Talk about amazing – beyond amazing! We were lucky enough to try a variety of goodies, including the Café’s dairy & gluten free chocolate chickpea brownies & peanut butter blondies, mini whole wheat chocolate chip muffins, vegan & gluten free carrot cake cookie pies & confetti cookie pies – both with vegan vanilla icing. Also served were delish gluten free almond butter cookies, Paleo double chocolate cookies, mini whole wheat chocolate chip banana bread &, my personal favorite? The vegan & gluten free tofu mousse cups – to die for!!
